It is very important that your contact information is listed correctly in Canvas. Follow these steps to verify your email address and make changes/additions, if necessary:

Click on the "Account" icon in the left navigation bar
Click on "Settings"
On the right side of the screen, verify that your email address is correct. It should look like the typical first initial/last name format. Example :
jane.doe@my.gavilan.edu
for Jane Doe.
You can also add your cell phone number if you want to receive text message alerts from Canvas.

Don't forget to also verify/update your Notification Preferences for Canvas!

Click on the "Account" icon in the left navigation bar
Click on "Notifications"
Hover over the column(s) on the right side of the page to change your preferences for each contact method (i.e. email, text)
