Design Project : Sketch your ideas!

Sketch Your Ideas

How you complete your prototype sketch is up to you. The important part is that you get your ideas down on paper so you can take a step back and look at what you have. Once your ideas are clear, you can use Tinkercad to create digital document showing the 3D CAD drawing of your design.

Instructions:

  1. Review the design problem you are working on. Take your time doing this. Read the problem closely and try to get the best picture you can of an initial design.
  2. Think.  Brainstorm. Do research online.
  3. Draw a sketch of your ideas. Include descriptions of structures, their dimensions, and what materials they might be made out of. This is a really important step for getting feedback. You can draw your prototype draft on paper,  or use a tool like Google's Autodraw Links to an external site. or any other digital drawing tool if you prefer to work digitally.
  4. Imagine looking at the sketch as another person. Ask yourself what key details an observer might want to know?
  5. Write down those details next to the sketch well.
